I beat Tyrion down so bad Teclis confederated him. Lothern declared war on me out of nowhere so I've been taking Ulthuan this weekend. For me, the most micro heavy faction but tremendous fun in battle. Also, it's pretty satisfying luring the enemy into a crossfire and watching them melt. They get way more money than Beastmen or Chaos so you can field way more stacks than those two. They're the best horde faction in the game despite not being a horde. I never got around to playing them in WH1 and they're a little tough and possibly dull in the beginning but once the steamroll gets going, oh boy. Their artillery is so good, Skrolk is a terror in battle and Doomwheel might be my favorite unit in the entire game. I also really like the Name of Power for generic lords. War Hydras, Black Guard, Executioners, Witch Elves (squishy but if you use them right, they're fun) and Darkshards make for a lethal roster. I really like Malekith because his magic is really strong, a dragon mount and he is good in melee. With DE, I had trouble initially fighting High Elves but once I stopped playing conservatively on the battlefield, I started winning a lot more Decisive Victories. New races: toss up between Dark Elves and Skaven. There is just so much utility in the Skaven roster. ![]() Even the battles that are far less smooth are still so much fun. Most battles don't work out that way, but when they do, it is glorious. Sending in the Doom Wheels and Hellpits to just just smash their lines which are already being pulverized by the scary effective Skaven ranged and artillery units, and then using the hardened Storm Vermin and Rat Ogre units to engage the pockets of units made from their broken lines and mop up the Imps who have exhausted themselves fighting thousands of slaves, all the while sending Runners around the flanks into that juicy, exploitable rear. Overrunning them with slaves and watching those get slaughtered is fun. ![]() Seconded, mostly because I love fighting what would be considered a pretty big enemy army, like two stacks of Imperials, then having two full stacks of nothing but Skaven Slaves, one stack with Storm Vermin, Globadiers, Ogres, Runners, and Warp Fire, then another stack with Doom Wheels, artillery, and Hellpits.
